Chainsaw sculpture…which makes me feel like I’m being terribly artistically lazy for some reason. #cocainepluschainsawsequals #IWantYourSkulls #tattooart #beautifulbc (at Frank James Park)
I couldn’t have drawn this to be better if I tried. #beautifulBC (at Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park)
I’ve been super-obsessed with The Mara Dyer Trilogy by Michelle Hodkin for a while (read: like since the first book came out and I picked it up based on the gorgeous cover because I’m a terrible human and judge books based on design); finally making some art based on it. This one’s actually been sitting in a barely-started stage in my sketchbook for a while.
I keep forgetting drawing book stuff is pretty much my favourite thing ever. :)
It’s that time of year again… I’ve been terribly low-effort and only made one new print this year, but I put a bit more effort in that usual for convention prints, so there. :P Booker and Elizabeth from my favourite game of the last few years, Bioshock Infinite.
Half the fun of being in a band is getting to do the illustrations/design work for it. #EmptyChildren #artistsoninstagram #illustration #draweveryday #UnionJack #music
Progress shot at the four hour mark. II might make something out of this…maybe. >.> #arctic #wip #illustration #artistsoninstagram #sketches #draweveryday #ffffound
Day off sketch, work in progress. I wanted to remind myself in the midst of all the horror of the last few days that beautiful things exist. #artistsoninstagram #sketches #WIP #DrawEveryday
New post over at my other silly Top Ten List blog, OneTwoThreeFour!
…You’re welcome. :)
Proof that I’m still making things. For a collab with the incredibly talented Nick Wong. :) #illustration #sketches #cosmonaut #artistsoninstagram #collab
Final illustrations and cover concept for my submission to The Folio Society’s edition of Heart of Darkness. Completed in two days.
In the famous words of Slade, “IT’S CHRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISTMAS!!!” I have drawn you all a festive walrus. :D
Wishing you and yours the loveliest of holidays, and all the best for the coming year!
Here’s the new cover for FFWD Weekly for November 28th’s issue, dealing with “Big Ideas” and Arts funding in Calgary. This is my first team-up with their new Art Director. :) Take it as my apology to all those people who’s birthdays/events I missed last week…I needed to hand this in and was not just being a misanthropic jerk.
…And yes. I definitely used this as an excuse to draw John Dwyer of Thee Oh Sees, since I figured Sled Island counts and he was last year’s guest curator.
